At a glance:
The Marriott Victoria Inner Harbour is a full service hotel located in downtown Victoria, within walking distance of many popular attractions and activities.
What it actually is: A standard branded downtown hotel that has been partially renovated.
What it is not: Interesting or unique, but it does the job and has some advantages.
Room: Guest room, 1 King, City view, Mid floor
Time of year: winter
Scores:
Hotel Design: 72 – Standard and basic.
Location: 91 – Close to the harbor and other downtown attractions.
Sleep: 71 – Comfortable bedding, but between room soundproofing was not very good. Adjoining rooms are even worse when it comes to soundproofing.
Service: 75 – No issues but nothing special either.
Room Design: 70 – Renovated to current Marriott standards, with the exception of the bathroom (it feels like you are walking into another hotel).
Room Amenities: 73 – As expected for the brand. Some rooms offer balconies, but ours did not.
Hotel Amenities: 71 – As expected for the brand, but the gym is very dated, and the pool area is very small.
Vibe: 70 – Cookie cutter Marriott, with a partial renovation.
Cleanliness / Maintenance: 80 – Above average. No issues.
Value/ Extras & Perks: 74 – Pricey for the brand, but to be expected (especially during peak summer months). Lounge for Marriott Elite members, with average offerings. The space feels a little bit of an afterthought.
OVERALL: 76.5
Would we stay again? Yes, but we would also consider other options.
