Review: Park Hyatt Saigon – Urban Elegance in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1

The Park Hyatt Saigon is a 5 star property with French-Colonial design at the center of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1. Built in 2005, it’s one of the top hotels in the city with 245 rooms. It’s an an upscale urban oasis in the city for its many guests, and visitors who come to enjoy the dining venues.

What it actually is: An exceptional urban hotel that is at the top of its game in all fields.

What it is not: A generic brand-name cookie cutter city hotel.

Scores:

Hotel Design: 95 – A fantastic property that feels both modern and classic at the same time.

Location: 100 – As central as you can get in Ho Chi Minh City.

Sleep: 92 – Extremely comfortable bedding, good AC, and excellent soundproofing. Outside noise was masked fairly well in our room (except some nearby mid-day concert noise).

Service: 100 – Some of the best service we’ve experienced anywhere.

Room Design: 94 – Spacious, well-maintained and extremely clean. The style is fairly traditional/classical, but it works.

Room Amenities: 95 – Everything you’d expect from a 5 star city-hotel. We did miss the local Cochine toiletries (although the new Le Labo products are good too).

Hotel Amenities: 98 – Beautiful public spaces, nice dining venues, a serene outdoor pool area, and a spacious/well-equipped gym.

Vibe: 95 – A peaceful and refined space in the middle of a busy and chaotic city.

Cleanliness / Maintenance: 97 – The standard is extremely high here. We did not notice any degradation in the rooms or common areas from our previous stay 7 years ago.

Value / Extras & Perks: 95 – Pricing for luxury properties is very competitive in HCMC so you tend to get a lot for our money, and the Park Hyatt is no exception. Virtuoso perks (upgrade, breakfast,credit) made it even better.
