At a glance:

Originally a Holiday Inn property, the Delta Hotel in Everett just outside of Seattle was fully renovated and opened in 2018 with a convenient (but somewhat stark) location immediately next to the I5 freeway and East of downtown Everett.

What is actually is: Despite it’s drab exterior and freeway-side location, the Delta Everett offers a surprisingly elevated experience with modern renovated rooms and above-average amenities, giving the nearby Courtyards, Hamptons and Hotel Indigo’s a run for their money (or yours!) 

What it is not: Fancy – but that’s not really what it’s going for either. 

Room: 1 King Executive (Delta Pantry access)

Scores:

Hotel Design: 79 – It’s an old freeway-side hotel that’s been given a new life. The design is generic and business focused, but feels fresh nonetheless.  

Location: 79– Very convenient to the freeway, but not much else around (although Scuttlebutt brewing is not a bad option for a beer just around the corner).

Sleep: 85 – Very comfortable bedding and pillows. Your experience could vary though: make sure to request a room facing away from the freeway, as this can make a significant difference for road noise. 

Service: 84 – Friendly, and good elite status recognition

Room Design: 81 – Pretty much standard, but functional with above average finishings for this calibre of hotel. 

Room Amenities: 84 – Great shower, comfortable bed, mini fridge and large TV. Rooms are a bit dark due to the small windows. We encountered a turn-down service once with extra goodies, but we are not sure what the schedule is for this. 

Hotel Amenities: 82 – Pool, gym, restaurant, and small outdoor area. Not bad in general. 

Vibe: 73 – Refreshed due to the fairly recent renovation, but otherwise as expected (for an old hotel near a freeway). Like many suburban hotels, guests attending (family) sporting events seem to dominate the weekends. 

Cleanliness/Maintenance: 96 – Exceptional for this price point.  

Value / Extras & Perks: 86 – Free parking and pantry access with status
