At a glance:
As the 2nd W property to open in the Seattle area, the W Bellevue is much newer and (in our opinion) more stylish and luxurious than its downtown Seattle counterpart.
What is actually is: A modern and stylish urban hotel with a central location in downtown Bellevue.
What it is not: Geared for families, this properly feels very much orientated for couples and business travellers.
Room: Fabulous 1 King
Time of year: Winter
Scores:
Hotel Design: 79 – While stylish, the public spaces felt strangely cramped and compartmentalized. It’s slightly awkward to get to/from parking due to taking multiple different elevators.
Location: 89 – Part of a commercial complex in the center of downtown Bellevue, the hotel is convenient to lots of shopping and restaurants.
Sleep: 91 – Very comfortable bedding and pillows. No noise issues, which is always a concern for us at W properties.
Service: 79 – Service was average. It was difficult to interact with the check-in staff due to the loud music in the lobby.
Room Design: 89 – Likely very polarizing to guests due to extremely open-concept design and fishbowl-like shower, which we thought was unique, spacious and stylish. Our corner room was also very bright.
Room Amenities: 84 – Everything you’d expect from a modern upscale hotel.
Hotel Amenities: 82 – Not many amenities other than a few onsite dining options. The gym was also very impressive: lots of space, windows, and equipment. It almost had club vibes.
Vibe: 83 – As expected – consistent with most of the W properties we’ve been to, the vibe is energetic and fun, although the party scene can be a bit much at times.
Cleanliness/Maintenance: 89 – No issues encountered.
Value / Extras & Perks: 80 – Our room was upgraded to “Fabulous” room, which was a corner room on a higher floor. We were disappointed that the included breakfast credit we received due to our status did not cover the cost of breakfast (which unfortunately is becoming increasingly common). Parking was free on weekends.
OVERALL: 84.5
Would we stay again? Yes
