Review: Cascade Hotel, Kansas City – Giving a new hotel a spin!

At a glance:

The Cascade Hotel, Kansas City, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is an upscale new hotel with 177 modern rooms near shopping and entertainment just outside of Kansas City.

What is actually is: A stylish and trendy new hotel near an outdoor shopping plaza.

What it is not: Close to downtown attractions.

Room: Revival Junior Suite with Peloton Bike

Time of year: Winter

Scores:

Hotel Design: 83 – Part of a dual-branded hotel development (shared with the Aloft hotel), the Cascade is upscale and stylish.

Location: 86 – A bit outside of downtown Kansas City (if that is where you want to be), but immediately adjacent to Country Club Plaza with lots of shopping and restaurants.

Sleep: 88 – Comfortable and quiet.

Service: 84 – Good overall.

Room Design: 88 – Bright and spacious, with a light and fresh aesthetic.

Room Amenities: 89 – Standard amenities, but the Junior suite we received featured its very own Peloton bike!

Hotel Amenities: 79 – No many amenities, but the bar and attached upscale food-court concept (now closed, but with plan to re-open) are the main draws. 

Vibe: 85 – Modern, hip and fun!

Cleanliness/Maintenance: 90 – No issues, the hotel was very new at the time of our stay.

Value / Extras & Perks: 86 – We received an upgrade to a junior suite, along with complimentary breakfast at a restaurant in the attached Strang Chef Collective Food hall (which has since closed)

OVERALL: 85.8

Would we stay again? Yes!
