Review: Hyatt Regency Mansarovar Jaipur – Felt like we we’re at an Indian wedding!

At a glance:

With 245 rooms, the Hyatt Regency Mansarovar in Jaipur is a solid and affordable hotel for tourists looking to explore Jaipur for a few nights. The hotel is well equipped for you to enjoy your time there after a long day of exploring Jaipur’s bustling streets, or if you just want to relax and have a day at the pool. The hotel also caters to special events and can get quite busy at times.

What is actually is: A solid Hyatt Regency that caters to special events and tourists in the outskirts of Jaipur. The hotel feels like a destination in itself.

What it is not: A peaceful hotel located near the touristy attractions in Jaipur.

Time of year: Fall

Room Type: King Room

Scores:

Hotel Design: 90 – The hotel design is grand, to make it look like a palace type structure with grounds to match. Its design makes it favorable to host special events, like weddings and corporate meetings.

Location: 72 – The hotel is located in a random local neighbourhood closer to the airport and a bit far from city attractions. There is not much of interest to walk to here, nor is it recommended.

Sleep: 89 – The room was exceptionally comfortable and and surprisingly quiet given the events taking place in the center courtyard during our stay.

Service: 95 – All staff made a big effort to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Some of it was a little more than we expected, i.e. asking where the washroom had someone offer to escort us there and carry Max’s purse.

Room Design: 90 – Very spacious, modern with a bit of local flare. Good idea to add an extra door to block outside noise. The bathroom was modern and had an amazing shower with excellent water pressure.

Room Amenities: 87 – What you would expect from the hotel brand but more too when comparing to North American standards: slippers, robes, bottled water, Nespresso machine, and lots of bottled water.

Hotel Amenities: 91 – There was a large pool, a spa, a gym, a few restaurants, a rooftop bar, and interesting public spaces. On some days, they had a cultural bazaar in the courtyard where you could enjoy snacks, chai, and assist in artisan demonstrations. On check-in, we also received a refreshing drink and towel, and someone dressed us in a local turban and shawl. We enjoyed the food and drinks at the Pink Bar two nights in a row.

Vibe: 83 – Fun and busy. Big events and weddings in a very Instagramable space.

Cleanliness/Maintenance: 94 – Very good!

Value / Extras & Perks: 95 – They were very generous with us overall, but it also helped we booked a Hyatt Prive rate, and had Hyatt Explorist Status. Snacks and chai were provided daily in the courtyard, we had lounge access in the evening with full bar and canapes, complimentary buffet breakfast (which was very good!), and early check-in and late check-out was offered without asking.

OVERALL: 88.6

Would we stay again? Yes!
