At a glance:
The Andaz Delhi is the first Andaz branded hotel to open in India. Interestingly, it is located in close proximity to DEL – Indira Gandhi International Airport in the area known as Aerocity. With 401 rooms, the hotel’s theme is to celebrate Delhi.
What is actually is: A decent 4 star airport hotel with some interesting and unique cultural features that celebrate Delhi and India.
What it is not: An Andaz true to the brand and what you’ve come to know.
Time of year: Fall
Room Type: King room
Scores:
Hotel Design: 78 – The hotel design is a standard modern design
Location: 80 – Good, for an airport hotel. If you are expecting more, or want to see more of the city it might be questionable
Sleep: 84 – Good, comfortable bedding, no noticeable airport noise despite being fairly close
Service: 72 – Pretty average. The bar closed 1 hour early and despite staff being there, they did not want to serve us any food or drinks. Staff tried to get us to write positive reviews about the hotel and mention their name despite limited interactions.
Room Design: 81 – Stylish but otherwise fairly standard
Room Amenities: 82 – Nice local snacks, good shower, and interesting book by the Andaz Delhi “401 Reasons to Fall in Love with Delhi” .
Hotel Amenities: 73 – Outdoor pool, gym, and spa. A restaurant and a bar. No airport shuttle despite the hotel advertising they’re 8 minutes away from the airport ( airport shuttles are not common for Delhi airport though).
Vibe: 72 – Upscale airport hotel, a strange fit for the Andaz brand
Cleanliness/Maintenance: 83 – Good.
Value / Extras & Perks: 73 – Not much, was Hyatt Explorist at the time and booked a room including breakfast. Expensive for an airport hotel in this area.
OVERALL: 77.8
Would we stay again? No.
