Review: The Villa at Hester Creek Winery – Mediterranean vibes in oliver British columbia!

At a glance:

The Villa at Hester Creek Winery is small bed and breakfast style hotel with 6 rooms located in Oliver, British Columbia for adults.

What is actually is: A bed and breakfast at a winery with stunning views and large suites.

What it is not: A place to go for a bachelorette/bachelor party.

Time of year: Summer

Room: Deluxe Suite

Scores:

Hotel Design: 85 – The Villa at Hester Creek is perched up on the hill overlooking the winery and surrounding landscape. The 6 rooms are attached but almost feel slightly detached. There is a small common outdoor dining area for guests.

Location: 82 – The Villa at Hester Creek is located in Oliver, which is good for wine tasting but there are limited dining options compared to Penticton, which is about 45 minutes away. The rooms are away from the busy winery but guests can walk to the restaurant and wine shop easily.

Sleep: 80 – The bed is a little soft for our personal preference, but overall the room is soundproof and comfortable.

Service: 85 – For a small bed and breakfast, the service is great but somewhat limited. As it is a small property that’s steadily booked, check-in time at 4pm is a little late and check out at 10am is a little early.

Room Design: 85 – The room is very spacious, has high ceilings, and is centered around the view. The style is old school Mediterranean and could use a refresh. The patio lacks some privacy due to the proximity to your neighbor and the type of divider used.

Room Amenities: 95 – The room has a fireplace, a shower, a large soaker tub, and a small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, sink, and dishes/glassware to enjoy a meal in your villa.

Hotel Amenities: 90 – The villa offers a delicious homemade breakfast each morning and can accommodate dietary restrictions. A complimentary bottle of red or white wine is offered to guests. There is a restaurant and wine shop on site.

Vibe: 95 – Couples of varied ages on a wine tasting weekend. Generally quiet and peaceful.

Cleanliness/Maintenance: 90 – The suites are spotless and housekeeping does a fantastic job of also providing daily housekeeping if you want it. The suites are showing a little bit of age and could use a refresh.

Value / Extras & Perks: 80 – Better than average for a bed and breakfast, as villa guests can get a discount or complimentary premium wine tasting at the wine shop. Prices are reasonable for the area and the quality of the accommodation. For example, a room more or less set in the parking lot at Spirit Ridge Resort can cost about the same or more during peak times.

OVERALL: 86.7
